Effective July 1, 2023, all contractors shall have a state-issued certified contractor license to perform work in Leon County. - Provides application assistance to contractors seeking reciprocity or to obtain a Leon County contractors license.
- Assists customers with filing alleged complaints against Registered and Certified contractors.
- Maintains renewal of General Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance coverage forms for all contractors.
- Reviews permit application requests prior to issuance by the Department to ensure that the contractor licenses are valid and current with appropriate General Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance coverage; and current Affidavit of Insurance.
- Administers the excavation examination and provides licensure to approved applicants to ensure compliance with the applicable provisions of the County’s Environmental Management Act.
