Link Up with Local Sustainability at the 2024 Leon County Sustainable Communities Summit

WHO: Leon County Government
WHAT: Sustainable Communities Summit
WHEN: Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE: Eastside Branch Library and Pedrick Pond Park, 1583 Pedrick Road

Join Leon County Government on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eastside Branch Library and Pedrick Pond Park to engage in the pursuit of a greener tomorrow at the 2024 Sustainable Communities Summit. Citizens can register for this free event at LeonCountyFL.gov/Summit.

This year, the Summit will celebrate the theme, Reconnection: Linking Up with Local Sustainability. This event will engage the community in conversation about local and personal sustainability and will work to connect citizens to local, sustainable resources. Sessions at the event will cover a range of relevant topics, such as local food resources, the connection between people and nature, understanding sustainability from a youth perspective, and much more.

The Leon County Sustainable Communities Summit gathers members of the community together to explore innovative approaches to sustainability. Informational sessions and social interactions allow attendees the opportunity to collaborate with experts and join in the opportunity to share their own experiences with sustainability while learning from others.

This event will feature local organizations, like Hydr0swap, Marpan Recycling, reCap Biochar, Red Hills Online Market, and more. The event will take place inside the Eastside Branch Library and outside in Pedrick Pond Park, so attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or camp chair for additional seating options while enjoying presentations and a complimentary lunch.
